In West Bengal, 54% voters wanted Mamata Banerjee to remain chief minister, thereby resulting in 213 seats won by the Trinamool Congress in the assembly elections, handing a humiliating defeat to the BJP. This not only shows that Didi is rani on her home turf, but also that strong regional leaders can stand up to and defeat the Narendra Modi-led BJP, at least in state polls.
